The new racer will be unveiled on June 28 at Spa-Francorchamps Circuit in Belgium.
Ford has announced it will unveil the Mustang GT4 racecar next Wednesday, June 28th, 2023, at the famous Spa-Francorchamps Circuit in Belgium. The company debuted the GT3 racer at Le Mans last week, so it appears to be full steam ahead with its Mustang racing program.
Few GT4 details have been shared, though we know it will be based on the Mustang Dark Horse, developed in partnership with Multimatic Motorsports, and will be eligible to race in global GT4 classes in IMSA, SRO, and FIA GT. That means it will have things like an FIA-Certified roll cage, safety nets, and strategic seam welds. All of this, and a whole lot more, will be available to the amateur teams that want to hit the track and compete for glory.
These two new racecars in quick succession are all a part of the company's plan to take the Mustang places it has never been before.

“We're taking this all-new Mustang to competition racing, and the very definition of a Dark Horse is the perfect fit to introduce this vehicle to the Mustang brand,” said Mark Rushbrook. “With our race program development underway, we're confident we have the right car for success.”
Everything points to the Dark Horse Mustang being a beast of a platform to build these race cars on. Ford recently introduced a 200 mph wind tunnel into its high-performance vehicle testing and said that the Dark Horse is the first vehicle to benefit from its use, putting in over 250 hours. It's made for speed, and Ford has already built upon it with the Dark Horse S, and R versions announced last year.

To keep costs down, the GT4 racer likely won't use the upgraded 5.4-liter Coyote engine found in the GT3, instead opting for the 5.0 in the roadgoing car. Not an issue because with 500 hp on tap, it will still be plenty quick.
CEO Jim Farley has been the key to all of this, realizing there is a tangible benefit to racing and winning. The old motto of “win on Sunday, sell on Monday” seems to course through his veins. Farley recently made his IMSA racing debut in a previous-generation Mustang GT4 at the inaugural IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge at Daytona International Speedway.
Hopefully, we will see him in the new one soon after it debuts. We image some promotional images of him hooning it around the track would be enough to drum up excitement.
