People are willing to pay top dollar for this rare and barely driven Ford GT.
The Ford GT is undeniably impressive, boasting exceptional performance, stunning supercar aesthetics, and a rich racing heritage. However, the question remains: is it worth the staggering price tag of over a million dollars? A recent and ongoing auction seems to say so.
One particular Ford GT, a 2019 '68 Heritage Edition, is currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer. With just a few days left in the auction, the price has already surpassed $1.1 million and is expected to climb even higher. This model has only been driven for 234 miles with a clean Carfax report and Montana title.

Interestingly, the seller acquired this Ford GT through the popular auction site two years ago for $1.22 million when it had a mere 46 miles on the odometer. A track-only model was also sold at the time for a similar amount.
The mid-engined supercar has been fitted with the Equipment Group 500A package that came as a $100,000 option and painted with a remarkable Heritage Blue paint job complemented by orange accents. To complete the look, it also has Heritage Roundel Graphics to pay homage to the legendary Gulf Oil Racing liveries from the 1969 Mk 1 Ford GT. Even replicas of these cars can fetch a pretty penny.
This Ford GT sits on 20-inch forged aluminum wheels finished in Satin Silver and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, with dimensions of 245/35 at the front and 325/30 at the rear, with contrasting orange-colored brake calipers.

Inside the cabin, the Ford GT boasts the '68 Heritage package, which includes fixed Sparco seats upholstered in black leather with Alcantara elements and patterned seat inserts. Blue and orange accent stitching is found throughout the interior, harmonizing with the carbon fiber trim pieces.
Under the hood is a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine, generating an output of 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque from the factory. When it was sold new, the original sticker price of the Ford GT was $620,500, but considering that this is part of a limited release and the soaring prices of used cars in the market, the asking price isn't that surprising.
