The highly anticipated all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning has received its final EPA-estimated range for its Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum variants in the US, ranging from 230-miles (370-kilometres) to 320-miles (515-kilometres).
When the Ford F-150 Lightning was unveiled in May 2021 an obvious challenge to the Tesla Cybertruck, Ford promised a driving range of 370km for the base level F-150 Lightning, and 480km for the extended range option. The Ford F-150 will have the fastest acceleration of any F-150 – fossil fuel or electric – of 0-96.5km/hr in around 4.5 seconds.
Fleet customers will have the option to purchase the extended range battery on the Lightning Pro, which gives the Pro a range of 230 miles (370 kilometres) for the standard range and 320 miles (515 kilometres) for the fleet-only extended range Pro.

The Ford F-150 Lightning has been hotly anticipated across the industry, and particularly in the United States where the company was quickly swamped with pre-orders immediately upon unveiling the vehicle.
Within 48 hours of its launch, Ford CEO Jim Farley said on Twitter that almost 50,000 $US100 ($A130) reservations had been received for the F-150 Lightning.
By October, reservations had soared to more than 160,000 in the United States, highlighting the demand not only for electric vehicles, but electric utility vehicles such as the Lightning, with its V2L and V2H features making it an immediate favourite with tradies and campers.
