Ford Australia has today announced a new four-cylinder rear-wheel drive option for its popular Everest Sport variant, along with pricing changes and options upgrades.
The new Sport RWD variant will retain the same 3.5-tonne towing capacity and seven-seat setup, however the rear-drive variant will only be available with the 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. This engine produces 154kW/500Nm.
Ford’s decision will allow buyers to get the fashionably blacked-out Sport variant for much less than the $69,590 V6 – because at $62,790 before on-road costs, the 2.0-litre rear-wheel drive Sport represents a $6800 discount.

Separately, Ford Everest prices will increase slightly for 2023, with the range to be between $300 to $649 more expensive than before, depending on the variant chosen.
However, Ford Australia says the current 2022 variants will retain the previous pricing until production ends in February 2023.
What standard kit do I get on the Ford Everest Sport RWD?
The new Everest Sport RWD model will include features such as black exterior trim, 20-inch black alloy wheels and a hands-free power tailgate as standard.

On the inside, the Everest Sport RWD will have leather-accented seats, a 10-way electrically-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, an eight-way power passenger seat and a Sport-exclusive colour option – blue lightning.
Stepping up to the Sport V6 model sees buyers gain an extra litre of displacement plus two cylinders and AWD. The V6 is 30kW/100Nm stronger than the four-cylinder, and is smoother.
Options for the Everest Sport grade include a towing pack and a touring pack for the 4×4 variant.

What else is new for Everest in 2023?
Ford has given its flagship Everest, the Platinum, some small upgrades for 2023.
The Platinum will now be fitted with steel underbody protection and a black-painted roof, both which were not previously available.
An off-road pack can also be ordered as an option for the Everest Platinum and includes smaller 18-inch alloy wheels (down from 21-inch standard wheels) and all-terrain tyres at no additional cost.

From March 2023 onwards, the optional touring pack that is available on Trend 4×4 and Sport 4×4 models will include black roof rails, a 360-degree camera, zone lighting, a tow bar and an integrated brake controller.
