The second-generation Ford Everest has been spotted on Australian soil as the new Ranger ute-based SUV prepares to go on sale a month later than initially expected.
An image of a 2022 Everest, in entry-level Ambiente guise, was shared to social media on Sunday that Ford Australia has confirmed to Chasing Cars was taken by an employee.

The Everest, seen wearing Victorian number plates, is a “press vehicle currently being run in” for the upcoming launch of the new-generation SUV, according to Ford Australia Product Communications Manager, Ben Nightingale.
“We have numerous examples running around in final preparation before customer examples arrive for the local launch in September.”
In a caption accompanying the image, the user wrote “base model, but nothing base about it. 2.0 BiT”, referring to the 2.0-litre twin-turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine under the bonnet.
It’s likely that Ford is waiting for adequate stock to arrive at dealers before officially putting the Everest on sale
When will the Ford Everest go on sale?
The Everest is currently due to go on sale in September, with the SUV originally slated to go on sale this month alongside the high-performance Ranger Raptor.
Like the launch of the T6.2 Ranger last month, it’s likely that Ford is waiting for an adequate supply of the second-generation Everest to reach its dealership network before officially offering its new 4WD to customers.
This first run of Everest orders isn’t likely to sit in dealership showrooms for long, after Ford Australia confirmed to Chasing Cars last month that over 2000 orders had been placed – with demand for the new flagship Platinum grade said to be particularly high.
