In 2023, the BMW M4 GT3 developed this year will have a little brother. The motorsport department of the Munich-based company has announced a GT4 racer based on G82 and shared a first teaser picture. However, it should still take a while until the correct presentation.
After the customer car is before the customer car: Shortly before the first deliveries of the new BMW M4 GT3, the Bavarian brand has already teased the next big hit for wealthy prospects. The new GT4 is intended to build on the success of the F82 generation that is currently still in use and which has become a pillar of the booming GT4 scene. It is to be delivered to customers from 2023.
BMW is still keeping a low profile on the details. Since, however, near-series sports cars are at the start in the GT4 and thus create the substructure for the GT3, the new racing car will be close to the current sports coupé. Accordingly, fans can continue to look forward to the robust sound of an in-line six-cylinder.
Opportunity for advancement and popular sport
The GT4, which was created almost parallel to the GT3, has enjoyed strong growth in popularity over the past five years because – just like the larger GT division – it is used worldwide, but is much cheaper. The price of the expiring M4 GT4 customer sport version is less than 180,000 euros. Buyers of a GT4 racer in German-speaking countries can compete in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the ADAC GT4 Germany and the DTM Trophy, among others. Comparable events and series all over the planet allow trips to legendary racing locations such as Spa, Daytona or Bathurst.

The GT4 has experienced a huge boom in recent years. Lower costs and similarly exciting fields of application make them the perfect GT3 alternative.
