The reason we are led to believe this is because their Purosangue, or italian for thoroughbred, has been mentioned in teaser text on their website, more specifically stating “Heart Of A Thoroughbred”. We are no boffins but the link is pretty obvious. While many other automakers are steering clear of internal combustion engines, another provided hint is that this entirely new V12 motor will power a “game-changing” vehicle in their portfolio very soon. The Purosangue will be the first model in the Ferrari portfolio that will be SUV(ish).

Ferrari, like all manufacturers with unrevealed models, has remained tight-lipped on details for the Purosangue. All speculation on what would power the model varied between the 296 GTB’s plug-in hybrid V6 to the venerable V8 in their range. These powertrains may still find their way into the Ferrari utility vehicle but we are all but elated that a V12 powertrain will feature too. An ode to resonant petrol power.
The clip itself doesn’t prove this but we can clearly see a piston engine block in a V configuration with the iconic Ferrari lettering in what is probably the intake manifold. The block, head, intake and exhaust are all shown in angles which don’t give away too much information
It won’t be long until our speculation on teaser campaigns and spy shots of camouflaged models will end, Ferrari will be revealing the Purosangue within this year. It is good to know Ferrari V12 power lives on considering much of the allure the brand holds is based around the sound that accompanies the driving experience.
