Ferrari has today launched its own podcast, which the company says allows it “to stay close to the many fans and enthusiasts all over the world during this time of lockdown and social distancing.”
Called The Origins Of A Legend, it’s put together by the Ferrari Museums to focus on key moments in the brand’s history. A new episode will be published each week on Spotify.
The first episode, available now, focuses on 1947, the year of Ferrari’s first victory when Franco Cortese won the Rome Grand Prix at the wheel of the 125 S. Later episodes will feature the backstory of the launch of the Ferrari 166 MM in 1948 and details on the 1949 24 Hours of Le Mans win, and much more of course.
And if that's not enough to satiate your lockdown listening needs, Chubb Insurance has launched a classic car podcast of its own: The Chubb Interviews podcast is hosted by Jodie Kidd alongside a different guest expert every month, with a focus on classic cars.
“The Chubb Interviews will meet the people that populate the impassioned and specialist world of classic cars. The series is designed to entertain and inform experts and classic car hobbyists alike, revealing the passions and stories that drive enthusiasts around the world,” says a Chubb statement.
Episode one is available now on all the major podcast services, with Simon Thornley speaking about winning ‘Restoration of the Year’ with a Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada, as well as taking on a three-year restoration of an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport with a fascinating history.
Jodie Kidd said: “Classic cars really take a hold of you in a way very few things do. The passion, the expertise and the skill of the people that inhabit this world has hooked me in since a very early age. To be now hosting a podcast with Chubb, who already insure my vehicles, on the very subject closest to my heart is an absolute dream and I can’t wait to share more wonderful stories with our listeners.”
