What’s it like to drive?
Reviewer’s opinion
If the design is a bit iffy, the drive makes up for it in every respect. A quality every open car should ideally possess is good structural rigidity. This is where many cabriolets fail. Without the benefit of a closed steel structure, their bodies can flex and shudder, which feels horrible and ruins its handling and comfort. The Z4 scores high marks here and feels like a proper sports car: unflinching and composed.

What is the BMW Z4 like inside?
Even though BMW had very little space to work with, the German automaker has still managed to make the interior feel spacious. The cabin very clearly has a sporty design theme and focuses the central infotainment display as well as the climate control buttons towards the driver. Interacting with the interior also leaves the impression of good quality materials as well as a good fit and finish.
Style
While the current BMW Z4 is very easily distinguishable as a Z4, the model is a big departure from the previous generation. All around the new vehicle features much stronger and sharper character lines. Exterior items such as the head- and taillights mirror the sharp design language found on the rest of the exterior. The interior, while also incorporating the angular design does get softer curves in selected areas.
