Back in September, the owner of a Fisker Ocean One listed it on Cars & Bids with a reserve. We don’t know what that reserve was, but it’s safe to say it was pretty high because even though bidding got up to $65,000, it still didn’t sell, and they weren’t able to close a deal after the auction ended. You’d think that would be a cautionary tale for future Fisker flippers, but unfortunately, that’s not the case. Another Ocean One has now appeared on Cars & Bids, and wouldn’t you know it, there’s a reserve on this one, too.
Unlike the previous Ocean One, which had actually been driven, this One is listed with 100 miles on the odometer. It’s possible we missed the interior photo that shows the actual mileage, but we’d be surprised if it’s actually been driven that far. This thing may as well be fresh off the production line. Just don’t call this a flip. It’s totally not a flip. Nope, not at all. According to the seller, it’s actually very different:
Hi everyone. Here we go! To answer the question that I suspect is coming soon: “why are you selling so soon?” Well, I ordered a Rivian R1S and Fisker Ocean years ago and they were both delivered in October. I also had a Tesla Model X, so 2 of the three had to go. We decided on the Rivian because it is the largest of the 3. Fisker is pretty awesome, with some absurd acceleration and great range. Good luck to the bidders! I will be checking in all week for the auction so feel free to ask any questions.
Oh wait, that’s definitely a flip. They ordered two cars planning to sell at least one, if not both of them, and since they liked the Rivian R1S better, the Fisker’s gotta go. They simply want to make sure they’re not exposed financially while selling the extra car they ordered just to see if they might like it better. However, they do get an extra half of a point for at least being up front about the situation. They may be trying to spin the flip to sound better than it is, but at least they’re not being cagey about their reasoning.
Still, we hope this one fails, too, and helps put an end to the constant flipping on Cars & Bids. It probably won’t happen, but hey, a girl can dream.
