In search of more crackles, pops and a smile on your face during the morning highway merge? Cupra might just have a solution
Cupra Australia has confirmed its Formentor grade will soon be available to option with its Akrapovic exhaust package.
Previously only available on the Ateca small SUV, the Akrapovic exhaust can only be added to the incoming MY24 models on the top-spec VZx grade at the cost of $6300.
Formentor VZx buyers can now add the optional Akrapovic exhaust package
The titanium exhaust maintains the quad-pipe design with added perforations around the ends and the eagle-eyed readers will note the Akrapovic logo design.
No added power increase is cited for the 228kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, with the exhaust system’s focus lying on the sound it makes and the subtly differentiated aesthetic.
The rest of the Formentor VZx’s drivetrain consists of the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic mated to an all-wheel-drive system. Good for a 0-100km/h time of 5.7 seconds.
The Formentor VZx can also be optioned with a Brembo brake package
Those looking for extra performance on this grade can also option a performance brakes package, which adds Brembo stoppers on the front axle at the cost of $4250.
Cupra has recently upped the price of the Formentor range by around $2000 but the VZx was treated to a smaller increase of $1800. In exchange more features have been added which you can read about in our separate article.
