The Ford Mustang Mach-E is one of the more recent EVs to debut, and it’s received a lot of praise and success from customers and critics alike. However, while Consumer Reports did give a very positive review to the 2022 Mustang Mach-E, there was one EV that Consumer Reports liked more. Here’s a look at the 2022 Kia Niro EV and why Consumer Reports enjoyed it more than the Mustang Mach-E.
The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E received a glowing review
2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E | The Ford Motor Company
According to Consumer Reports, the Ford Mustang Mach-E is one of the best SUVs on the market right now, and it’s better than a lot of luxury SUVs that aren’t EVs. The Mustang Mach-E has an overall score of 82 out of 100, making it the third-best luxury SUV on the market. The Mustang Mach-E has a 5 out of 5 on its predicted owner satisfaction rating, a 4 out of 5 on its predicted reliability rating, and a 78 out of 100 on its road test.
Some of the best things about the Mustang Mach-E have to do with its performance capabilities. It lives up to its Mustang name as the Mustang Mach-E can accelerate quickly, and it handles well, too. It takes just 5.3 seconds for this Ford SUV to go from 0 to 60 mph. That said, while the Mustang Mach-E is a clean and green vehicle, it still has issues that many other EVs suffer from.
One of the Ford Mustang Mach-E’s notable issues is its range, which isn’t that great. It currently can get about 247 miles on a single charge, and customers will have to pay extra to boost that to about 300 miles. Furthermore, just like other EVs, it will take a while to recharge.
The 2022 Kia Niro EV is an even better EV though
One EV that’s better than the Ford Mustang Mach-E is the Kia Niro EV. Consumer Reports gave it an overall score of 88 out of 100, making it the best EV on the market. It scored better than the Mustang Mach-E did in two areas, but the Ford SUV did better in one area. The Niro EV got an 81 out of 100 on its road test, which is slightly better than what the Mach-E got.
The Kia lived up to its reputation regarding reliability, as Consumer Reports gave the Niro EV a 5 out of 5 for its predicted reliability rating. That said, the one area where the Mach-E did better was owner satisfaction. The Niro EV has a predicted owner satisfaction rating of 4 out of 5, which is good, but less than what the Mustang Mach-E got.
The Tesla Model X is the worst-scoring EV right now
The Ford Mustang Mach-E and Kia Niro EV are great electric vehicles that Consumer Reports recommended, but which popular EV is the worst of the bunch? The 2022 Tesla Model X is currently the worst-rated EV on the market, and it has an overall score of 41 out of 100, according to Consumer Reports.
In fairness to the Model X, it did well in two categories. Consumer Reports gave it a 72 out of 100 on its road test, and it also has a 4 out of 5 for its predicted owner satisfaction score. However, what dragged the Model X’s score down was its predicted reliability score. Thanks to the EV’s history of reliability issues, Consumer Reports gave the Model X a 1 out of 5 for its predicted reliability score.
