The Calm Cabin Package caters to their specific sensory needs like never before.
Chrysler will show up to the 2024 New York Auto Show with a special version of its Pacifica minivan, designed specifically to support occupants with autism. Buyers of the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid will be able to opt for a Calm Cabin package that arrives in late spring. This announcement comes at the start of Autism Acceptance Month in April as part of a partnership with the Autism Society of America.
So how exactly will Chrysler make the Pacifica's cabin feel more calm, safe, and comfortable for those with autism? The Calm Cabin package includes several unique features that are proven to make the Pacifica more welcoming, organized, and quiet to avoid sensory stimuli overload.
The package bundles a seat-back organizer, Bluetooth meditative light and sound therapy machine, soft-touch velvet seat belt sleeve, soft-touch pillow, and seven-layer, 12-pound weighted sensory blanket. For non-speaking passengers, the Pacifica's rear entertainment system can even display a menu with various prompts for the driver, such as “I want, yes, no, thank you, bathroom,” and more. This package will be available on Chrysler's online merchandise retail store, but pricing is not currently available.
“At Chrysler, we believe it's no longer enough to be 'aware' of the millions of people living and thriving with autism, we must put acceptance into action,” said Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand CEO. “We're proud to offer life-enriching opportunities for individuals with autism and their families with initiatives, such as our new Calm Cabin package, that bring a little harmony to people's lives, whether they are on a long road trip or running a quick errand.”

“The Autism Society of America is proud to partner with Chrysler to create an improved and inclusive driving experience for the autism community,” said Christopher Banks, president and CEO of the Autism Society of America. “With a trusted partner like Chrysler, our work is amplified as we collaborate to instill inclusive workplace practices, product accommodations and create more opportunities for the autism community to live fully.”
Chrysler will show off a 2023 Pacifica Limited with branded Autism Society vehicle graphics at the NY Auto Show. The American company will also give the Autism Society one-year loans for three Pinnacle trim Pacifica models, the highest trim available valued at over $60,000. Chrysler will work to identify additional areas where it can support the autism community and train dealership staff to recognize the unique needs of individuals and families in the community.
