Cadillac Eldorado Models & History 1995

The Eldo coupe and ETC (Eldorado Touring Coupe) again comprised the series, both, again, powered by the Northstar 4.6-liter V-8 mated to the AT80S electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission with viscous converter clutch.

  • Due to the aforementioned new fluid induction system, the Northstar received in 1995, the Eldo’s and STC’s horsepower ratings each increased by five over the previous year’s measure.
  • The Eldo now claimed 275 horsepower (up from 270) while the ETC had 300 horses (up from 295).
  • Additionally, the ETC also gained torque: 295 pound-feet (up from 290).
  • The appearance of the “base” Eldo was greatly refined with newly designed front and rear fascia and a chrome grille with body color perimeter and new integrated wreath-and-crest emblem (the previous stand-up hood ornament was no longer available.
  • Sail panel badging and wheel opening moldings were also discontinued.
  • Other changes included redesigned 16-inch cast aluminum wheels with diamond cut finish and seven-spoke pattern (common with Seville Luxury Sedan), foglamps integrated into the front fascia body color rocker and lower door moldings were now one-piece, bodyside molding was body color with chrome stripe and contained “ELDORADO” lettering, body color sill plate was integral, taillight perimeter was now Ruby Red color, front and rear side marker lamps were updated, beveled exhaust tips conformed to lower fascia contour and three new exterior water-borne color choices were offered: Shale, Pearl Red and Amethyst.
  • Inside, the Eldo received windshield wiper-activated headlamps, 20-second illuminated entry, electronic gear selector display, airbag electronic sensing and diagnostic module, and new Charisma cloth replaced the previous Bistro cloth and was available in Neutral Shade (cloth and leather).
  • Powertrain and chassis refinements included the aforementioned PG260 starter motor and fluid induction system as well as the integrated Chassis Control System that featured steering wheel angle sensor four-channel anti-lock brake system and ASR5 traction control.
  • The Northstar V-8 received a stiffening brace package to reduce vibration and the Eldo. overall, was stiffened via steering column struts tied in to the cross-car beam behind the instrument pane as well as corner gussets that replaced front shock tower to radiator tie bar braces.
  • Also new were tapered bail studs for the stabilizer bar link joints and lower friction upper control arm bushings.
  • New options included a electronic compass in the inside rearview mirror programmable garage door opener, chrome wheels (common to Seville Luxury Sedan), rear seat storage armrest, and two Nuance loather seating color choices: Neutral Shale and Cappuccino Cream.
  • Standard features unique to the Touring Coupe included an “ETC” decklid badge (there was no Touring Coupe identification on the doors): body color license plate frame with “ELDORADO” lettering: five new exterior water borne color choices: Shale, Pearl Red, Amethyst, Cotillion white and Light Montana Blue: and four new Nuance leather seating color choices: Neutral Shale, Cappuccino Cream, Dark Blue and Dark Cherry.
  • Also revised on the ETC was its body color grille with new integrated wreath-and-crest emblem.

The most personal of all Cadillacs, the powerful Eldorado Touring Coupe offers a uniquely exhilarating driving experience. For 1995, the highly refined 32-valve Northstar V8 puts a full 300 horsepower at your command. Combined with Cadillac’s new Integrated Chassis Control System (ICCS), this sophisticated powertrain provides performance surpassing that of many legendary sports cars. If you seek the “great escape,” Eldorado is certainly it.

Self-assured style is an integral component in the Eldorado Touring Coupe (ETC) personality. Taut, distinctive lines are complemented by a body-color grille, new front and rear fascias and a minimum of chrome. The unmistakable message: that this is a high-performance coupe of uncompromising character.

As befits a personal performance coupe, Eldorado Touring Coupe’s elegant interior is focused unblinkingly on the task of driving. Backlit analog gauges – complemented by an electronic driver information center – deliver essential information at a glance. Orthopedically-designed seating provides support and comfort for the longest journeys. Even your peace of mind is enhanced, thanks to the reassuring presence of air bag protection for both driver and front passenger.

The basic Eldorado is a prominent benchmark of the higher standard of Cadillac for 1995. On the outside, Eldorado makes a more dramatic statement than ever, with an array of styling enhancements including new front and rear fascias, standard fog lamps, bodyside moldings and cast-aluminum wheels. Inside, luxurious leather upholstery complements the bold nature of Eldorado, and genuine Zebrano wood trim abounds.
