German motorcycle manufacturer BMW Motorrad has launched the S1000RR in India. Prices for the BMW S1000RR start at Rs 20.25 lakh(ex-showroom).
The all-new 2023 BMW S1000RR is offered in three variants with the base S1000RR priced at Rs 20.25 lakh. The BMW S1000RR Pro is priced at Rs 22.45 Lakh while the BMW S1000RR Pro M Sport commands a price tag of Rs 24.45 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, India).
The all-new BMW S1000RR is powered by an updated version of the Bavarian firm’s water-cooled 999cc, inline-four-cylinder engine that now revs to a stratospheric 14,000rpm. The S1000RR’s screaming inline-four produces 206.5bhp at 13,750rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 11,000rpm.
The BMW S1000RR’s engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a shorter secondary gear ratio for better traction off the line and also comes with a quickshifter for faster up/downshifts. The 2023 BMW S1000RR sprints from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed north of 300km/h.

The BMW S1000RR also features an updated traction control system with a new Slide Control Function. This allows for two preset drift angles for the traction control system when the S1000RR accelerates out of the corners.
The S1000RR also features an updated ABS setup with a new Brake Slide Control Function that helps riders when they slide the bike into corners under braking. There is also a new Slick setup that is for use when the bike is shod with slicks on a race track.
BMW has also updated the S1000RR’s design and has given its potent road missile a new section that features new aero winglets that add 10 kilos of downforce. The 2023 S1000RR’s front end also features sharper headlights and a taller windscreen compared to the 2019 model.
The BMW S1000RR rides on aluminium wheels shod with 120/70 R17 (front) and 190/55 R17 (rear) tyres. Those opting for the Pro M Sport model will get carbon-fibre wheels instead along with quite a few other bits that make use of the lightweight bits.
Thoughts About The BMW S1000RR
The BMW S1000RR is Motorrad’s litre-class missile for the road. Now with even more power on tap and a host of new electronic aids on offer, the BMW S1000RR is even angrier than before which should hopefully result in a lot more fun on the track.
