KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia today introduced several enhancements to the M850i Coupé, first introduced in Malaysia in 2018.
Now featuring a different front profile, the updated 8 Series has received a number of sporty design updates for its exterior and interior, as well as an expanded list of standard equipment.
The car is priced at RM1.1mil (on the road, without insurance).
The all-wheel coupe now gets M exterior mirrors and M emblem on the grille as standard, which are part of the M Performance package.
The grille is also lit up through the “Iconic Glow” feature. The car is now fitted with 20-inch alloy wheels with staggered tyres and black M Sport brakes.
In the cabin is a bigger infotainment touchscreen, measuring at 12.3 inches, up from 10.25 inches. The front row gets M Sport seats as standard.
The interior is added with Carbon Fibre M trim finishers, while doors come with electroplated controls.
For a higher level of comfort and luxury, there’s 2-zone climate control and a Bower & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system.
Exterior colour include Frozen Pure Grey Metallic and Frozen Tanzanite Blue Metallic from the BMW Individual series.
Interior upholstery features BMW Individual Extended Leather Trim “Merino”, with a colour choice of Black, Cognac, Ivory White, Night Blue, Tartufo and Fiona Red.
As a refreshed model, the engine is still the same one as the older 8 Series. The 4.4 litre turbocharged V8 doles out 523hp and 750Nm of torque, which are sent to the wheels through an 8-speed gearbox. Sprint time from 0-100kph takes 3.9s and is capped at 250kph.
