BMW is set to launch a redesigned 7-Series next year and included in the range will be a battery-electric variant dubbed the i7.
We’ve already spotted prototypes for the i7, and BMW on Wednesday provided an update on the progress of its development.
Shown here is a prototype undergoing winter testing in Sweden, close to the arctic circle. The test is the final one for drive and suspension systems, with engineers particularly focused on improving the balance between performance handling and comfort, according to BMW.
The test will also provide important feedback on the performance of the battery in extreme cold, a condition that normally takes a toll on range for electric vehicles.
In our own spy shots, the i7 can be seen testing together with EVs already on sale like the Mercedes-Benz EQS, Xpeng P7 and Tesla Model Y.
