The i4 M50 ushered in a new era for in house performance division; M, but AC Schnitzer have also had their hand in tuning the four-door BMW i4.

This is left field for AC Schnitzer. They are one of the few tuners out there that have years of experience fettling Bavarian behemoths, turning them up to eleven. This BMW i4 is a little bit different. Since its powertrain is electric, AC Schnitzer can’t get up to their usual wizardry and tweak the engine and exhaust tune.
Despite this, they have taken their impressive resume worth of experience and transferred it onto what they can for the electrified four-door. Depending on trim, the most powerful model in the lineup; the i4 M50 can hit 100 km/h from standstill in less than four seconds compliments of the 400 kW and 795 N.m pulsing to all four corners.

AC Schnitzers updates include tweaking suspension and enhancing the factory styling. Suspension setup now includes lowering springs that lower the sedan by 20 mm up front while the rear is hunkered down by a total of 25 mm. Sitting in the tucked wheel arches are now a choice of two wheel designs. Either the AC4 with its five spoke layout or the AC1 which is composed of a five-split spoke layout.

AC Schnitzer have also added some goodies to the rest of the body which includes an extended front splitter and canard that cohesively feed into the front bumper. The rear receives similar attention with a roof spoiler and carbon-fibre rear spoiler finishing the look alongside some flanking winglets.

The German tuner has also subtly tweaked the interior with aluminium finishes which can be found on the pedals, footrest, cover for the iDrive system controller, and keyholder. No pricing from AC Schnitzer has been confirmed, but their premium endeavours with previous fossil-fuel powered BMW’s have never been particularly cheap.
