Bermaz Auto Alliance Sdn Bhd (BAASB), the sole distributor for Peugeot vehicles in Malaysia, has officially launched the new Peugeot Landtrek pickup truck. This also marks the Landtrek’s first appearance in ASEAN, offering Peugeot’s brand values of “Allure, Emotion, and Excellence”.
The Landtrek however, isn’t Peugeot’s first pickup. As the only automotive brand with over 2 centuries of history, its first ‘pickup’ actually came in 1938 with a commercial flatbed vehicle based on the Peugeot 202. This was followed by the Peugeot 203 after World War 2 and then the 403 and 404. It was only in 1979 that the Peugeot 504 was officially called a “pickup”.
That legacy continues with the Peugeot Landtrek which promises customers a new choice of pickup that is rugged and adaptable, to suit both professional and family needs. The Landtrek is a mid-sized pickup truck built with the essential elements of the segment i.e. reliability, ease of maintenance, versatility, off-road capabilities, as well as towing and loading performance.
Other features which allow the new Landtrek to be at ease in any terrain and weather are:
- Approach angle: 29˚ (depending on the session)
- Departure angle: 27˚ (depending on the session)
- Break-over angle: 25˚
- Side slope angle: up to 42˚
- Hill climb angle: 80% (on automatic gearbox)
Notable safety features include 360˚ view cameras to navigate around obstacles and narrow streets, front and rear obstacle sensors, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) which includes Hill Assist Descent Control (HADC), Lane Departure Warning, and 6 airbags.
In the cabin, the Landtrek has a quasi i-Cockpit with a 10” touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, silver-trimmed piano-style toggle switches, and dual zone air conditioning controls. In terms of comfort, the front seats have side bolsters for support, and a tall centre armrest. The 2ndrow provides 1,550 mm of shoulder room and about 50 mm of knee room. There are also a total of 7 grab handles throughout the cabin for ease of getting in and out. Special attention was also given to the rear passengers. The rear backrest can be tilted 23 degrees to provide greater comfort for long journeys. The modular nature of the rear bench seats also adds versatility to the cabin. The rear seat cushions can be tipped up in a 60:40 split to allow flexible loading configurations. The backrest also can be folded either as a 60:40 split or 100%. Furthermore when folded down, the backrests can support a load of up to 100 kg. The rear bench seats are also fitted with 2 ISOFIX fasteners for docking child seats.
Since its global introduction in 2020, the Peugeot Landtrek has continued its offensive in 2022 globally with an 81.1% increase in sales (compared to the previous year) in the Middle East and Africa region. As a testimonial to its success, the Peugeot Landtrek was awarded Product of the Year in Ghana last year.

The Peugeot Landtrek comes in 6 exterior colour choices i.e. Ceramic White, Silver Grey, Magnetic Blue, Red Rubi, Rockstone Grey, and the exclusive Olea Green. The selling price starts from RM120,072 (without insurance).
It comes with a standard 5-Year Manufacturer Warranty with a mileage limit of 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
