All Bentley’s are hand-built in Crew, England by expert craftsmen and craftswomen. Attention to detail is the name of the game, something that results in luxury very rarely seen in automobiles even at this princely price point. Its Continental and Bentayga models can now be made even more distinctive with what it’s calling the Styling Specification.
This new option adds some carbon fibre trinkets to both vehicles in order to enhance their sporting characters. Distinctive new front splitters, side sills, rear diffusers and boot lid spoilers are delicately crafted from the lightweight material. The 2×2 twill of the carbon is woven in identical directions, meaning that the pattern will match on each component.
Due to being an SUV, the Bentayga’s spoiler is a more substantial piece than the polite flick found on the Continental. Its contrasting nature is actually reminiscent of the chunky spoilers found on rally cars of the 1980s. The larger Bentley can also have its front air blades, wing vents and mirror caps optioned in a matching finish. Both the Bentayga and Continental side skirts feature a unique three-dimensional electroformed Bentley badge.
These parts aren’t simply glued on as an afterthought, as Bentley has carried out a lot of development during their creation. Each piece was modelled virtually using computational fluid dynamics software to ensure they didn’t interfere with the aerodynamic loads on the car. Prototypes were then created and refined in a wind tunnel before being assessed in the real world. Only after all of this testing was carried out did Bentley bring the Styling Specification to market. Considering that these are primarily aesthetic pieces, that’s dedication.
The new Styling Specification is available to order for those seeking to make their Bentley Continental GT or Bentayga SUV a little more unique.
