Audi has notched up its second consecutive Automotive Innovation Award, in 2017, for being most the most innovative brand in the premium manufacturer category. The Ingolstadt-based company bagged the award this year for its advances in aerodynamics, lightweight construction, connectivity and piloted driving.
Audi deployed 84 new improvements in the reporting period, centered on four main subject areas – automotive drive systems, autonomous driving and safety, vehicle concepts and body, and interface and connection. Audi also claimed outright wins in the last two of those individual categories.
Prof. Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG commented, “These awards show that we bring our brand claim – ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ – to life, and are leading when it comes to many innovation issues. Especially in aerodynamics and lightweight construction, in connectivity, driver assistance systems and piloted driving, we are in a very comfortable position and are working hard to maintain our competitive edge.”
