Audi has made a comeback to WTCR, assuming he ever left. After what may be described as a transitional season, the Ingolstadt business is back in style with the showcase debut of the second-generation Audi RS 3 LMS TCR. The new TCR’s racing client program is limited to the World Touring Car Cup and, more precisely, to the team Comtoyou Racing, which is responsible for putting the Ingolstadt firm’s four vehicles on the track. Four cards will be assigned to two nominative teams and have already been painted in warm colors.
Frédéric Vervisch and Gilles Magnus will form the Comtoyou Audi Sport team. Due to the presence of two Belgian drivers inside the structure, the Audi RS 3 LMS TCR is painted in the country’s flag colors. The ‘Comtoyou’ logo is prominent on both sides against a yellow, red, and black background. These last two colors were also employed during the development period of the Audi TCR. Finally, this Belgian flag-inspired livery is more about the Belgian Automobile Federation’s (RACB) backing for Gilles Magnus than it is about anything else.
Tom Coronel and Nathanael Berthon will retain the team identity under the name Comtoyou DHL Audi Sport. Although the paint scheme of the two Audi RS 3 LMS TCRs in this second ‘frame’ is similar to that of the other two TCRs, DHL sponsorship stands out. The company emblem is displayed on the car’s sides, while yellow is increasing in popularity, particularly on the sides. The DHL logo is printed on a yellow background in this manner to resemble the company’s corporate insignia.
