The Hilux is now here in India and is all the rage with staggering demand for the best seller pickup
Toyota has finally announced the prices of the much-awaited Hilux, and as expected, it sits below the SUV with which it shares its mechanical underpinnings, the Fortuner. Priced between Rs 33.99 lakh and 36.80 lakh in India, the new Toyota Hilux finds itself at a hefty premium over its direct rival, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
The dealer outlets of Toyota have already started receiving the Hilux, where they are now on display. Here’s a video from the YouTube channel of Rajni Chaudhary giving a walk-around of how the India-spec Toyota Hilux looks from the outside and inside.
Toyota Hilux is massive in size
The video shows the top-spec High variant of the Toyota Hilux is equipped with an automatic transmission in the shade of Emotional Red. This variant comes with a gloss-black trapezoidal grille surrounded by thick chrome garnish. While the headlamps come with LED projectors, daytime running LEDs and LED turn indicators, the front bumper has L-shaped gloss-black surrounds for the LED fog lamps and parking sensors.

And it is quite spacious as well
With an all-black interior layout, the Toyota Hilux has bottle holders, soft-touch leather armrests, and speakers integrated into the door panels, which also have contrast silver touches and chrome-finished inner door handles. The rear seats come with a 60:40 split arrangement, centre armrest and headrests for all three passengers, with the rear seats, also having dedicated AC vents for them ahead of the middle passenger.
Coming to the front of the cabin of the Toyota Hilux, the front doors come with contrast silver touches, soft-touch leather armrests with power window and mirror adjustment switches, speakers, tweeters and bottle holders. The driver’s seat has buttons for powered adjustments, while the co-driver seat doesn’t get any type of height adjustability.
The cabin remains very much like the Fortuner
The driver’s cockpit of the Toyota Hilux gets a leather-wrapped multi-functional steering wheel with audio, Bluetooth, cruise control and voice command switches, with a push start-stop button placed behind it. The instrument console has analogue dials for the speedometer and tachometer, with a vertical TFT MID screen in between the dials. The co-driver side of the dashboard has two separate gloveboxes, while there is a fine layer of silver finish with chrome garnish spread across the width of the dashboard. The Hilux also comes with an electrochromic inside the rearview mirror.
The asymmetrically-designed centre console of the Toyota Hilux has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which features Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatibility. While AC vents with a centrally-placed digital clock are present above the screen, the panel for dual-zone automatic climate control, two 12V power outlets, switches for traction control, electronic differential lock and hill descent control and knob for the four-wheel-drive system, are positioned below the screen.
Toyota Hilux is a premium offering in the Indian market
At the bottom of the centre console, the transmission lever has piano black and silver surrounds, besides which there are two separate buttons for ECO and POWER modes. While there are two cup holders behind the transmission lever, there is a small storage cavity, manually-operated handbrake and front centre armrest with a storage compartment and 100W power socket ahead of it. All the variants of the Hilux, including this top-spec High automatic variant, come equipped with front, side, curtain and driver knee airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and ISOFIX mounts for child seats.
