The tacky colour blue tape won’t make it to the final model, we hope.
The Purosangue may very well be the pioneer of an all new vehicle category.
While SUV’s seem to be the more prominent vehicle type to be launched into the market, we are paying special attention to that of the Prancing Horse since it is rumoured to be highly track capable and the first of its kind for the brand. Another Ferrari Purosangue was spied over the weekend and it looks near to completion.

There have been multiple occurrences where the novel creation from the Maranello based automaker has taken their test mules onto public roads. Some of them have been adorned in the skin of other Italian SUVs while more recent instances have been equipped with heavy fabric camouflage concealing what is likely near-to-complete body panelling.
With each iteration edging closer to the final model which will hit the sales floor later this year, Ferrari have been kind enough to let us know that what we are seeing here is still not a final model underneath all of the clothing. Similarly to a building process, the blue tape wrapped around the prototype signifies that this is still one or two steps away from completion – a work in progress so to speak.

Another aspect of the Purosangue that becomes more apparent with each spy photo snapped is that it looks less like a conventional SUV and more like a lifted hatchback which is great news for anyone that wants to properly hoon their spacious family hauler around a racetrack. While it should logically have a lower centre of gravity than most, it is rumoured to employ two powertrains based on customer budget, likely the V12 and V8 although the hybrid V6 may still be on the cards too.
While this event is just another Ferrari Purosangue that has been spied on the cool winter streets of Maranello, this Prancing Horse is shaping up to be unlike anything that has come before it. It may even be the birth of a completely new segment where the lines between a super SUV and Grand Tourer become blurred which is what Ferrari management may have been insinuating all along.
