The Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) is underway, and besides the hullaballoo surrounding the new and updated is this, the 2022 facelift for the Thai market.
Headlining changes in this iteration of the 7-seater MPV are exterior and mechanical updates, which includes a new CVT.
The former first; its Dynamic Shield front fascia has redesigend LED position lights, fresh grille setup, and T-shaped headlamps that replaces the blocky ones on the pre-facelift car (just like the Malaysian Xpander has).
Round the back there's new LED combination tail lights, and a new rear bumper, giving it a sharper look à la a mini .
The cabin receives improvements too, in the form of a more modern dashboard, new steering wheel, digital air-cond panel, and an electric parking brake (EPB).
Still, the biggest change for the Xpander is under the hood: out goes its old 4-speed automatic, and in place of that is a CVT-type automatic transmission.
The gearbox is paired to the same 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder engine (105 PS/141 Nm), still driving the front wheels (FWD).
Prices for the facelifted Xpander will be announced at a later date, but our sister site, Autofun Thailand expects a small price hike of around THB 10,000 (~RM 1.3k), bumping prices to THB 799,000 (~RM 100k).
