The latest Endy overhauled both visually and mechanically. Here’s whats changed
Ford recently introduced the all-new Ford Everest in the global markets. The SUV now boasts a new exterior styling but also offers a new cabin and updated powertrain options. Here is a detailed walkaround of the new Ford Everest (Endeavour) that will give you an idea about what this 4X4 SUV looks like in real life.
A Fresh And A Bold Design
With the launch of the new Everest, Ford is now offering a completely redesigned front fascia that might remind you of the Ranger. The new matrix LED headlights along with a big grille in the centre does help in making Everest look bold and imposing.
The angles are now sharper and the side profile is largely dominated by new alloy wheels that complement the new design very well. Move to the rear and you will notice that Everest now looks a lot more premium and sophisticated than before. The new LED tail-lights look much better and the bar connecting the taillights too gels in well with the design. In all, Everest now looks better and now boasts a premium and appealing stance.
It Has Become Powerful
The Everest will be offered with two engine options – 2.0-L turbo diesel and 3.0-L V6 turbo diesel
Before we check the cabin, let’s focus on the powertrain options being offered with the new Ford Everest. For starters, the new Everest gets two engine options – 3.0-L turbocharged V6 diesel and a 2.0-L turbo-diesel engine. While the brand is yet to announce the power and torque output figures for either of these engines, what we know is that the buyers will be able to opt for a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission option, depending on the variant and engine. Needless to say, the car will be offered with optional all-wheel-drive iterations with select trims.
A New And Feature Rich Cabin
A number of changes have been made to the new Everest including a heavily updated exterior styling
A lot of changes have been made to the cabin of the Ford Everest (Endeavour). To start with, the car now gets a new dashboard layout with a vertical infotainment screen. In addition to this, the instrument console is now all digital. Other noticeable changes include a new centre console, new gear-shifter, new and improved seats, etc. On the features front, the higher trims of the Everest will be offered with ventilated front seats, wireless charging, automatic climate control, Ford Pass, panoramic sunroof, USB charging points, power-adjustable driver’s seat, cooled glovebox, etc.
The headlights at the front might remind you of the Raptor pick-up truck
Ford Everest will get a long list of safety features. To start with, it now gets nine airbags, hands-free parking, adaptive cruise control, Ford’s Pre-Collision Assist and more.
Will It Come To India?
While Ford is yet to comment on the introduction of Everest (Endeavour) in India, the chances are bleak. With the brand planning to cease manufacturing operations here in India, it will attract a significant premium if Ford brings it into the country via the CBU route. Having said this, the American carmaker is planning to introduce another premium, fully imported high-end model like the Mach-e SUV, Mustang and others.
