Don’t despair, nobody has taken a hacksaw to the new and controversial Prancing Horse since this Purosangue bakkie happens to only be a rendering.

Launching just over a month ago, the Ferrari Purosangue has taken the motoring world by storm. Although head-honchos at the Italian automaker do not consider it to be a pure SUV, it ticks the boxes of one and puts some impressive statistics against its closest competitors.
In a world where supercar makers are dropping cylinders and adding forced induction, Ferrari has decided to keep their new model to the traditions with a sonorous naturally aspirated V12 that puts out as much as 533 kW. The latest rendering by X-Tomi imagines what the world’s most powerful bakkie would look like with its 6,5-litre motor is also good for 716 N.m.
The Purosangue bakkie has been imagined with the traditional two-door setup that the company has almost exclusively produced since their inception – no double cab here. The proportions have remained although from the B-pillar onwards, the model now has a bed to enable true utility. Since this is purely a conceptual image, there is no specification on its load bed volume or towing capacity so the Toyota Hilux will likely keep its crown as the best-selling bakkie locally.
Considering how much of an internal challenge the model was to bring to life, we are sure that no officially sanctioned Purosangue is in the pipeline and considering how few of these models are expected to roll out of Maranello new. Ferrari only plans 3 000 annually to retain the brand’s core exclusivity and it is also unlikely that one of the few owners that have secured one will take a hacksaw to it and convert it into a bakkie.
