American carmaker Ford has revealed the F-150 Raptor R. The Ford F-150 Raptor R sees the return of the V8 under the hood of the pickup truck with the supercharged engine in the new model putting out 700bhp.
Ford F-150 Raptor R Specs
The new Ford F-150 Raptor R is powered by the 5.2-litre supercharged V8 engine last seen on the Mustang Shelby GT500. Under the hood of the new Ford Raptor R, the supercharged V8 engine pushes out 700bhp at 6,650rpm and 881Nm of peak torque at 4,250rpm.
The Raptor R’s V8 engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. The Raptor R features 4 driving modes – Normal, Sport, Quiet and Baja which can be selected by pressing the R button on the steering wheel.
The V8 soundtrack is transmitted to the world thanks to a unique dual exhaust system with a true pass-through muffler and active valve system.
The Ford F-150 Raptor R sports a new front axle with a more robust, higher-strength carrier casting and an aluminum-ribbed structural cover to manage the V8’s added torque.
At the rear, the new F-150 Raptor R sports five-link rear suspension featuring extra-long trailing arms to better maintain axle position on rough terrain, a Panhard rod and 24-inch coil springs that help the pickup truck along with electronically adjustable FOX LiveValve dampers. The Raptor R allows for 330.2mm (13-inches) of travel at the front and 358.14mm (14.1-inches) at the rear.
The Ford F-150 Raptor R rides on 17-inch beadlock capable wheels that are shod with 37-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tyres. These massive tyres help the Raptor R deliver 332.74mm (13.1-inches) of ground clearance.

The Ford F-150 Raptor R gets a few unique design cues that help differeniate it from its V6 Raptor sibling. These styling cues include the more aggressive power dome on the bonnet which sits 1 inch taller than on the base Raptor along with Ford’s Code Orange coloured graphics and ‘R’ badges and new graphics on the pickup’s rear section and power dome.
Step inside the new Raptor R and the distinguising features continue in the form of the Recaro front seats with Raptor R badges which is also seen on the large central armrest. Carbon fibre can be seen on the door cards, media bin door and upper parts of the instrument panel and the lightweight stuff features a unique tri-axial weave pattern. The F-150 Raptor R also sports a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
