Looking to specify your new Audi RS3 sedan to perfection? Thankfully, the RS3 model is already very well specified, but here are five things I'd pick nonetheless.
At R 1 276 600, the Audi RS3 sedan comes properly specified with some amazing standard features in the way of tech, safety, styling, and infotainment, but if you want to enhance your ownership experience, here are a few things I would pick if I were you. RS Styling package Plus, Green – R12 800
This pack includes even more green details than the usual green package dies. With this option, you get ‘Micrommata’ green seat shoulders in Dinamica microfibre along with green contrasting stitching around the honeycomb quilting and RS embossing. Even the centre bar is ‘Micrommata’ green! Find out what the top 3 things you should know about the Audi RS3 sedan are, here.
Pneumatically adjustable lumbar support with massage feature for the front seats – R8 200
If you’re going to spend this much on a car, what’s an extra R8 200? If you’re prone to back-ache on long road trips, this will alleviate all that! And while you’re at it, why not add some seat heaters in front for R5 500?
Panoramic Glass Sunroof – R17 000
Since the cabin is predominantly black and the headliner is too, the panoramic sunroof is just what you need to let some light and air inside. It’s especially useful when your passengers, especially at the rear, have a tendency towards carsickness. (Find out what the Audi RS3 Sedan’s performance is like, here)
Carbon spoiler on tailgate – R15 000
While it looks really good, especially when it’s made from carbon fibre, the spoiler also improves rear tyre traction and applies downforce which improves stability at higher speeds.
Adaptive chassis control with Audi drive select – R13 000
If you’re a real driving aficionado and you have access to a race track, this is something you won’t want to miss out on. And who better to explain how this works than those clever Audi engineers:
The adaptive suspension with Audi drive select including damper control (DCC) lowers the vehicle by 10 mm compared with the S model. This suspension is designed to provide consistently RS-specific enhanced driving dynamics with more direct contact with the road and sportier handling. The electronically controlled dampers can be adjusted to suit different driving situations, with a choice of dynamic or comfort-oriented basic settings, via Audi drive select. From RS-specific handing to outstanding driving dynamics to great driving comfort.
Audi drive select shows its emphatically dynamic side in the Audi RS 3 – geared entirely to performance. Besides the vehicle characteristics available in the everyday driving modes “auto”, “comfort”, “dynamic” and, depending on the county, efficiency², three additional RS-specific driving modes – “RS INDIVIDUAL”, “RS PERFORMANCE” and “RS TORQUE REAR” – can be activated. The RS INDIVIDUAL mode allows you to adjust the power steering assistance, engine and gear-change characteristics, vehicle dynamics control (ESC), engine sound, suspension and quattro with RS torque splitter. The “RS INDIVIDUAL” mode allows you to combine different settings for each system as required. The “RS PERFORMANCE” mode is designed for agile handling and enables the suspension, steering and vehicle dynamics control (ESC) settings to be adjusted accordingly. The “RS TORQUE REAR” mode is the most extreme setting for the RS torque splitter; it cannot be configured and its use is permitted only on closed circuits. – Audi
