The 2024 Volkswagen T-Cross facelift has been revealed ahead of a 2024 Australian on-sale date. Adding new styling touches, more technology, upgraded infotainment systems and a higher-quality finish to Volkswagen’s popular small SUV, the update is sure to keep the T-Cross popular – to date, over 1.2 million examples have been produced for global markets.
On the outside, the 2024 Volkswagen T-Cross features new bumpers and lighting units for a freshened look and upgraded technology – the company’s ‘IQ.Light’ Matrix LED adaptive high beam units will now be available on certain models in Europe, and we expect them to feature locally as well.
There is now an LED light bar in the front grille, while the tailights now feature a horizontal light bar and new X shaping. New exterior colours like the bright ‘Grape Yellow’ shown in these pictures are also available.
Inside the 2024 Volkswagen T-Cross has also seen changes, such as a new 8.0-inch digital driver’s display that is now standard equipment in Europe, while a larger 10-inch unit is also available. In the centre, a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s mounted like the larger screen in the larger T-Roc now features.
The company’s new touch sensitive controllers for the climate control have replaced the older system, while the cabin quality has been upgraded with new soft touch panels on the dashboard fascia and the tops of the doors in higher-spec models (Australian specifications are yet to be confirmed).
Volkswagen did not list any changes to the mechanicals in its press release, so we expect the T-Cross’ drivetrains to carry over from the current model – in Australia, an 85kW/200Nm 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is the only option, and we expect that to continue for the facelifted model.
European models also get a six-speed manual option for this engine, as well as a larger 110kW/250Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that’s found locally in the Skoda Kamiq.
