2024 Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe facelift break cover

German sports car marque Porsche has unveiled the third generation facelift of the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe. This long-awaited mid-cycle update has brought a more potent powertrain, additional tech, and a fresh inside and out to the SUV.

New Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe: Design
The Cayenne facelift does not bear radical exterior design changes but notable updates. The noticeable styling changes have been to the front. To begin with, the Cayenne facelift gets new sharper and angular HD Matrix LED headlights, a new bonnet, and redesigned bumpers. Porsche has also given it 3D taillights. Plus, it gets three new colour options: Montego Blue Metallic, Algarve Blue Metallic, and Arctic Grey. The SUV also comes with new alloy wheels, ranging from 20, 21, and 22-inches. Notably, Porsche also offers an optional lightweight sports package with the new Cayenne Coupe facelift that saves up to 33kg.

The three new displays and subtle tweaks to other parts are the key highlights of the overhauled interior. The three-screen setup comprises a 12.6-inch curved driver display similar to the one in the Taycan, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Porsche Communication Management (PCM), and the first time for the new Cayenne is an optional 10.9-inch passenger touchscreen.

Moreover, it gets a new 911-inspired steering wheel, a drive mode selector and a toggle switch to control the instrument panel, an air quality system, and a black glass panel that houses mechanical switches and touch capacitive buttons with haptic feedback for air-con control. The new Cayenne gets a new toggle-type gear selector, four fast-charging USB Type-C and an optional heads-up display.

The new Cayenne S now gets a 4.0-litre V8 instead of the V6. This mill generates 474PS and 600Nm of torque, which is 34PS and 50Nm more than the previous V6 mill. With this, the SUV and Coupe can achieve 0-100kmph in just 4.7 seconds and top out at 273kmph. The base-spec Cayenne gets an optimised 3.0-litre V6 turbo engine that makes 353PS and 500Nm of torque – 13PS/50Nm more than its predecessor. The top-of-the-line Turbo GT continues to be powered by the 4.0-litre V8 but that now produces 19PS additional power, totalling 659PS. As a result, it can go from a standstill to 100kmph in just 3.3 seconds and provides a top speed of 305kmph. Last but not least, the Cayenne E-Hybird now makes 470PS and has an EV-only WLTP-certified range of up to 74km (combined) and up to 90km (city).
