RTR is already working its magic on the incoming Ford Mustang Dark Horse.
Ford has announced that the S650 Ford Mustang will not be easy to tune, but that sort of warning does not apply to a factory-backed outfit like RTR, and the company has now teased the grille for its upcoming Mustang RTR Spec 2.
Based on the below teaser image and an earlier sketch posted by the tuner, it appears that the Spec 2 will be based on the Mustang Dark Horse. As usual, the redesigned grille includes illuminated LED accents on either end, and the mesh expands more toward the center of the grille.
Obviously, RTR will not be stopping there.

As standard, the Mustang Dark Horse produces 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque, but if the S550 RTR Spec 2 is any indication, that figure will likely increase considerably.
For the S550, a Whipple supercharger upgrade helped the 5.0-liter V8 achieve 750 hp and 615 lb-ft of torque. RTR will likely want to exceed that number for the new model. Since the tuner has already extracted 1,300 hp from its new drift cars (albeit with an aftermarket management system), the potential clearly exists for a menacing monster that can produce supercar numbers.
With that kind of performance, a simple grille change will not suffice, so expect to see a new splitter, rear spoiler, diffuser, side skirts, suspension, wheels, and more.

The interior will also receive some upgrades, with past RTR vehicles boasting custom shift knobs on manual-equipped cars, new floor mats, and other highlights to uplift the cabin. We'll know more on May 24, when the 2024 RTR Mustang Spec 2 is revealed at Hollywood Plaza Garage in Orlando, Florida.
Professional drifters Vaughn Gittin Jr., Chelsea DeNofa, James Deane, and Adam LZ will be on hand to present the vehicle and possibly give some insights on what it's like to drive the Spec-5 Formula Drift cars revealed last month. Hopefully, pricing and availability will also be made public following the reveal.
