Ford Australia has increased prices on its ute-based Everest SUV by up to $1000, and has confirmed there are no specification changes for the 2024 model year.
“The price adjustments are consistent with the evaluation of market conditions we regularly undertake across our product portfolio, which take into consideration a number of different external factors such as currency and material cost considerations,” said a Ford Australia spokesperson.
The 2024 Ford Everest range will start at $53,490 before on-roads for the Ambiente 4×2 bi-turbo and extend to $78,530 before on-roads for the Platinum 4WD V6.
The models hit with the smallest $200 price increase are Ambiente variants, as well as the recently introduced Sport 4×2 bi-turbo.
The Everest Sport 4×4 V6 and Platinum variants on the other hand are the two variants hit with the largest $1000 price rise.
This year Ford will introduce a Wildtrak variant which hasn’t seen any price increases thus far – it’s due in local showrooms in the third quarter of 2023.
The Everest Wildtrak slots between the Sport and Platinum in the line-up, and is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine with a full-time four-wheel drive system.
Ford still continue to offer customers the choice of a 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo four-cylinder engine producing 154kW of power and 500Nm of torque, or a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine which produces 184kW and 600Nm.
The Ford Everest was the third-best selling Large SUV in May 2023 with 812 examples delivered. It was outsold by the Toyota Prado (1435 sales), and the Isuzu MU-X (1110 sales).

Drivetrains
The 2024 Ford Everest shares its engines with the Ford Ranger, and is available with two turbo-diesel powertrains: a 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo four-cylinder, and a 3.0-litre V6.
Ford Everest Bi-Turbo
Standard on Ambiente, Trend, and Sport 4×2 trims is a 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo four-cylinder producing 154kW of power and 500Nm of torque. This is 3kW less than the previous-generation Everest, while torque is unchanged.
It’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and is available in rear- or full-time four-wheel drive configurations. The related Ranger ute with the Bi-Turbo engine is only available with a part-time four-wheel drive system.
Standard on the Sport 4×4 and Platinum is a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine producing 184kW and 600Nm. This is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, with drive exclusively sent through a full-time four-wheel drive system.
4×4 features
The Everest unlike the Ranger features a full-time four-wheel drive system with a two-speed electromechanical transfer case featuring 2H, 4H and 4L modes, plus a 4A mode for high-traction surfaces like paved roads.
This 4A mode when selected can continuously distribute power between the front and rear axles for “optimum performance in all on-road conditions”. Essentially, it behaves like an all-wheel drive car in 4A.
There’s also an electronic locking rear differential on four-wheel drive models that can be activated through the infotainment touchscreen.
All 4×4 variants of the Everest also receive an e-shifter gear selector instead of a traditional mechanical gear selector.
Depending on the Everest variant, there are a variety of drive modes that change the vehicle’s throttle response, gearshifts, traction control and ABS. These include the following:

Standard on all 4×4 models besides the entry-level Ambiente is an ‘Off-Road Screen’ (ORS) that’s able to display the following information:

A surround-view camera, which is standard on the top-of-the range Platinum and optional on the Trend 4×4 and Sport, can also be interacted with in this ORS.

Dimensions
The 2024 Ford Everest is 4914mm long, 2207mm wide, and up to 1842mm tall, with a 2900mm wheelbase.
The Blue Oval has confirmed the maximum braked towing capacity for the entire Everest range, including 4×2 variants, is 3500kg.
Maximum payload is up to 741kg, gross vehicle mass (GVM) is up to 3150kg, and gross combined mass (GCM) is 6250kg across the entire range.
Boot capacity with the second-row seats upright is 898L and the third-row upright there is 259L.
In vehicles fitted with Ford’s factory tow bar, there’s a trailer coverage system that allows you to set the length of the trailer you’re towing. It supports trailers varying from 2.4 metres to 10 metres long.
This system takes the length of the trailer intro account and adjusts the sensitivity of the blind-spot assist.
The optional Tow Pack also includes an integrated brake controller.
All Everest models have a Tow/Haul drive model that optimises gear shifts to maintain the best power delivery and engine braking, as well as reducing shift ‘busyness’ when towing.
Servicing and Warranty
The Everest is backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty like the wider Ford range.
Maintenance is required every 12 months or 15,000 kilometres, and the first five services are each priced at $329 under the Blue Oval’s capped-price service program.
Safety
The Ford Everest earned a five-star ANCAP safety rating on the back of an 86 per cent score for adult occupant protection, a 93 per cent score for child occupant protection, a 74 per cent score for vulnerable road user protection, and an 86 per cent safety assist score.
The five-star rating applies to the whole Everest range, and is based on tests carried out on the closely related Ford Ranger ute. For owners of cars built before August 20, 2022, that rating only applies once a software update has been installed by a dealer.
