Heavily upgraded large German SUV outed by its own multimedia system a fortnight out from its global reveal
The 2023 Porsche Cayenne has been outed on social media with the publishing of images apparently revealing the new large luxury SUV’s exterior styling via a close-up shot of the infotainment system.
As alluded to by the myriad spy images and official teasers we’ve seen over the past few months, the facelifted third-generation Porsche Cayenne has been made to look sportier and more aggressive with a squarer bumper and intake design reminiscent of the current GTS and GT Turbo variants, as well as slimmer Taycan Cross Turismo headlights.
At the back we can see the anticipated tailgate redesign and relocated numberplate recess, along with a restyled bumper and tail-lights.
It isn’t clear which variant the graphic is showing but it doesn’t look like one of the flagship variants judging by the relatively small wheel size and overall lack of tinsel.
The images were posted to Instagram by CocheSpias late last week after Porsche officially teased the next Cayenne’s interior, with special attention being drawn to its all-new digital dashboard.
New or at least heavily updated powertrains are also expected to feature across most of the core line-up, in tandem with a new ‘semi-active’ chassis designed to make the high-end SUV more versatile across all types of terrain.
Those patiently awaiting the new model’s debut don’t have too much longer to wait – the big day has been set for April 18 at this year’s Shanghai motor show, ahead of first Australian deliveries late in the third quarter of this year, so by September.
Despite the updated version’s impending reveal the Cayenne continues to find fans Down Under, where Porsche sold 339 examples in the first two months of 2023, making it the German performance brand’s second best seller behind the smaller Macan SUV.
