The 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid will soon replace the current model, which is no longer available to order in the U.S. The launch of the 2023 model will mark the reopening of the order book for Ford’s smallest and most affordable truck. Here’s all that we know about the incoming truck:
Design & Features
The 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid will be a carry-over model, meaning there would be no design changes. It will likely be about trim revisions, quality improvements, and addressing minor issues that customers have brought up in the current truck.
Automotive Retouch‘s paint options listed for matching the 2023 Maverick’s factory colors suggest that only four shades from the 2022 model will stay on: Area 51, Alto Blue, Iconic Silver, and Oxford White.

Going by this list, the fate of the Cyber Orange and Hot Pepper colors hangs in the balance. There would be a new ‘Atlas Blue (pearl metallic)’ option as a replacement for Velocity Blue. Similarly, customers preferring black would get the option of a new ‘Absolute Black’ instead of Shadow Black. A new ‘Fighter Jet Gray’ would be a collective replacement for the Carbonized Gray and Cactus Gray colors. Lastly, there would be a new option called ‘Avalanche’ in the color palette, the details of which are awaited.
A 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor is likely on the cards. Spy shots (view on Motor Trend) of a Maverick prototype featuring styling that’s similar to existing Ford Tremor models have surfaced. There’s no word on whether Ford will offer the Tremor as a grade or a styling package in the 2023 Maverick Hybrid. Ideally, a Tremor model should boast additional off-road capabilities, but the 2023 Maverick Hybrid isn’t expected to be available with even an AWD system, forget off-road gear.
The interior of the 2023 Maverick Hybrid, just like its exterior, should take on the current model’s design. Image Source: Ford
The alleged 2023 Maverick Tremor in the spy shots wears the same type of radiator grille as the regular model’s XLT and Lariat trims, but with accents in Tremor-signature Active Orange. It carries the funky color on the two front recovery tow hooks and the alloy wheels as well. When Ford officially reveals the 2023 Maverick Tremor, expect to see Active Orange highlights on the badges and a unique interior styling with the same color used in part of the trim and upholstery as well.
Specifications
The 2023 Maverick Hybrid is likely to retain the current model’s full-hybrid powertrain without any real changes. This powertrain delivers an EPA-est. fuel economy of 42 MPG in the city, 33 MPG on the highway, and 37 MPG combined and an EPA-est. total range of 511 miles on a full tank.
The current Maverick Hybrid has a 2.5-liter gasoline engine that produces 162 horsepower and 155 lb.-ft. of torque. An electric motor that generates 126 horsepower and 173 lb.-ft. of torque assists the engine and it gets its juice from a 1.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. In total, the full-hybrid powertrain produces 191 horsepower, which goes to the front wheels via an e-CVT.
