BMW estimates this electric version of the new 7-series, which will be revealed in April, will have a 305-mile EPA range.
BMW
The upcoming electric version of the BMW 7-series is nearly here, and BMW has shared some teaser photos that show off plenty of the 2023 i7’s design before its official debut in April. The most notable styling detail is the large kidney grille up front that appears to take inspiration both from the 4-series and iX’s controversial noses. We also now know more about the i7’s driving range estimates, futuristic interior screens, and headlights thanks to these images. Like the visually identical i4 and 4-series, we expect the gas-powered versions of the new 7-series to share many of these same elements from the i7. It’s expected to debut alongside the EV version, and both models should go on sale in the U.S. later this year.
BMW
BMW estimates that the i7 will have a driving range of 305 miles on the U.S.-specific EPA cycle. That’s a bit behind its chief rival, the Mercedes-Benz EQS, which claims 350 miles in base EQS450 form and 340 miles for the more powerful EQS580 model.
BMW
These slim LED headlights appear to be part of BMW’s new styling direction, as they’re similar to the ones see on the iX electric SUV. We’ve also seen spy photos that indicate lighting elements like these will make their way onto other models in BMW’s lineup, such as the facelifted X7 expected to arrive sometime soon.
BMW
BMW first showed this movie-theater-style screen for rear passengers earlier this year at CES, and it appears that the i7 will be the first production application. It’s a huge 31.0-inch high-definition screen that comes down from the roof in between the front and rear seats.
BMW
BMW has hinted at various new displays inside the i7. This is likely what the company calls the “Interaction Bar”, and it appears to be a screen on the door panel with various displays and control functions. There will also be a curved display for the gauge cluster and an infotainment screen running BMW’s latest iDrive software.
