The newly launched 2022 MG ZS EV bookings have been closed as the electric vehicle has been sold out for 2022.
Thanks to concerns over rising fuel prices and increasing trust in electric vehicles, the new MG ZS EV received an overwhelming response from Indian consumers. Speaking about the new 2022 MG ZS EV, prices for the updated MG ZS EV starts from Rs 21.99 Lakh (ex-showroom, India).
However, the base ‘Excite’ trim will be available only from July 2022. This means the only variant of the new MG ZS EV that is currently available is the top-end ‘Exclusive’ variant that has been priced at Rs 25.88 Lakh (ex-showroom, India).
According to MG Motor, the previous MG ZS EV owners have saved approximately 70 Lakh kilograms of carbon dioxide by choosing an EV. To put that into an understandable perspective, 70 Lakh kilograms of carbon dioxide is equivalent to planting 42,000 trees.
Speaking about the new MG ZS EV, the exterior and interior of the new EV has been thoroughly updated and it now looks more like MG Astor with a different front grille. However, despite the update, the new MG ZS EV retains its original silhouette.
The Interior has also been significantly updated and MG says that the rear seat has been improved for more comfort. However, the most noticeable change in the interior is the uprated 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with additional features.
In addition to all these, the new updated MG ZS EV also gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a large panoramic sunroof, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 360-degree surround-view camera system, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, electronic parking brake with auto hold, heated ORVMs, cruise control, drive modes, and many more.
In addition to that, the new MG ZS EV also features MG’s Car-as-a-Platform (CAAP) vision which includes services and subscription packages such as Park+, Jio, MapMyIndia, and Shortpedia.
In terms of safety, the new 2022 MG ZS EV comes equipped with the inclusion of safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Rear Disc Brakes, and a few more.
One of the updates in the new MG ZS EV is its updated powertrain system. The new powertrain now sports a larger 50.3kWh battery pack and a more powerful 173.6bhp electric motor with 280Nm of torque.
Thanks to this updated powertrain, the new MG ZS EV can reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 8.5 seconds and deliver a maximum range of 461kms on a full charge.
