MG Motor India has finally announced the launch date for the upcoming updated MG ZS EV. As per the latest announcement, the Chinese-owned British brand will launch the updated MG ZS EV SUV on 7 March 2022.
The main talking point of the upcoming facelifted version of the MG ZS EV SUV is its uprated battery pack and the new styling that makes it look more like the MG Astor, especially when viewed head-on.
As mentioned, the design of the upcoming 2022 MG ZS EV makes the electric SUV look more like the MG Astor with its new headlights that have been borrowed from the MG Astor and the all-new front grille that is now a completely sealed-off unit.
Apart from these changes, the new front bumper now sports different air intakes and looks a lot more aerodynamic.
Moreover, the rear portion of the upcoming 2022 MG ZS EV also gets a new pair of LED taillamps and a reprofiled rear bumper.
Other changes include new alloy wheels and a slightly slimmer-looking black cladding all around the vehicle. Despite these many changes, the updated MG ZS EV retains its original silhouette.
On the inside, the updated 2022 MG ZS EV will get all the latest goodies from MG Motors such as the larger 10.1-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and connected car features via MG’s iSmart platform.
It is also highly likely that the updated version of the MG ZS EV will get the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with level-2 autonomous driving capability.
Under the skin, the latest update is will give the 2022 MG ZS EV a larger 51kWh battery pack. In comparison, the current spec MG ZS EV comes with a 44.5kWh battery pack, which the company claims to deliver 340 kms of range on a single charge.
With the uprated battery pack, the facelifted version of the MG ZS EV will come with a revised range of 419 kms on a single charge. This means the updated MG ZS EV can travel between Whitefield and Richmond Circle almost 21 times without having to recharge in between.
In International markets, the new MG ZS EV is offered with an 11 kW AC charger as standard. Moreover, the update also repositions the charging socket and adds a new charging port with a four-stage LED indicator that reflects the charging status of the EV.
When launched, expect a slight hike in the price. However, it is worth mentioning that, the update adds a lot more value and practicality to the EV.
