The new Ford Mondeo 2022 prototypes have started to surface in the United States, one of the areas where the model with the blue oval will be offered. These latest spy photographs further clarify the saloon’s visual elements, as well as showing details of the front and back.
Since last summer, when we saw test units of the new Ford Mondeo 2022 in southern Europe, the American manufacturer’s vehicle has vanished from the roads. A new prototype has debuted in the United States, with the same configuration but with somewhat less camouflage, displaying elements previously hidden behind the black tarps covering the front and back.
The fresh spy photographs depict a relatively consistent look for the five-door Mondeo, which this time seems to have a body-to-ground height more like to that of a passenger vehicle rather than a crossover.

Ford will abandon the Mondeo, dubbed Fusion in the United States, in mid-2020. According to Bloomberg, they are moving to Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.
The Ford Mondeo is also impacted by the strategy shift in Europe. The sedan and station wagon are being phased out in favor of the Evos crossover type; the sedan is scheduled to cease production in early 2022.
