The 2022 Audi A8 L facelift luxury sedan will be launched in India on July 12. The A8 L is the flagship sedan from the Ingolstadt-based carmaker, and as the L in the name suggests, it is the long-wheelbase version of the car. Audi India teased the car in April 2022, and a month later in May, the company began accepting pre-bookings for the A8 L for a token amount of ₹ 10 lakh. The updated 2022 model made its global debut only in February 2022, and the fact that the car is coming to India so soon is certainly noteworthy.

Visually, the front and the rear of the 2022 Audi A8 L receive major changes, as the fascia now features a wider Singleframe grille, with ample use of chrome on its surrounding. The side air intakes are more upright, while the digital Matrix LED headlights too have been redesigned. In profile, the 2022 Audi A8 L retains its progressive character lines as the roof dome runs flat, while the stretched lines accentuate its length.
The wide chrome clasps dominate the rear section, while the tail lamps get a customisable signature with digital OLEDs that receives a continuous, segmented light strip. The diffusor insert is also redesigned with horizontal bars.
Powering the 2022 Audi A8 facelift will be a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 coupled to a 48V mild-hybrid system, developing 340 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission with a Quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard. This accelerates the car from 0-100 kmph in 5.6 seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 209 kmph. There could also be a 4.0-litre turbocharged TFSI version on offer, that develops 460 bhp and 660 Nm of torque. This variant can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.4 seconds. One highlight of the V8 is the cylinder on-demand system (COD), which temporarily deactivates four cylinders for better fuel efficiency.
