The more mainstream manufacturers dabble with electrification, the more likely they are to create a demented supercar with ludicrous performance figures. That may be the case with a 1 000 kW BMW electric supercar in the near future.

Bimmer fans right now may not be too worried about a silent Bavarian supercar, but in the case that changes in the future the brand has revealed that a 1 000 KW BMW electric supercar is possible on their latest EV infrastructure.

According to Frank Weber, vehicle development head, the Neue Klasse platform is being developed to support high-performance applications. This includes a quad-motor supercar capable of some serious performance… 1 000 kW to be exact.
“The most demanding vehicle that we have is a real high-performance M product. Really high performance M product. What you can expect from this Neue Klasse architecture is not only flexibility within your high voltage battery. You can also have a super efficient single motor architecture, a dual motor architecture, and this can even deliver a four-motor architecture up to one megawatt.” says Weber
The versatile platform will debut in 2025 with more sensible options including a sedan, and SUV in 2025. While we know ther next few years of M products will retain piston-power, it is inevitable for the autoaker to gradually phase them out in favor of electric powertrains. Unfortunately the Vision BMW pictured here from 2019 was killed before it ever saw the light of day but something similar looking may avail itself of the futuristic styling before we know it.
