It seems like the cops are targetting high-performance cars in recent times. Only a few days after police stopped a Porsche 911 for loud exhaust, a Ferrari 458 was stopped and inspected as well. The incident is from Bangalore, Karnataka.
The video by Spotter India shows a white Ferrari 458 speeding around on the roads. After some time, the cops spot the car and wave it to stop. The car stops on the side of the road and the cops check for the documents of the vehicle. According to the channel, the police stopped the vehicle because of its loud exhaust and crazy acceleration spurts that it was doing on the roads.
There is no information on the challan though. It seems like the cops checked the documents of the vehicle and let the driver go. Even though loud aftermarket exhausts are banned in India, the cops cannot do much because they lack scientific instruments like a decibel metre to check the loudness of the exhausts.
After getting to hear the exhaust from the video, we cannot figure out if the car is running on aftermarket exhaust or stock exhaust. Yes, the sportscars and supercars are louder than the standard mass segment cars but even these imported vehicles have to stay within the permissible limits.
You should know that aftermarket exhaust kits are available for such sports cars as well. Just like the aftermarket exhausts available for sports motorcycles, most of these aftermarket exhausts are tuned to increase the performance of the car and are not road legal.
Porsche 911 driver dropped rev bombs
The Porsche driver, who was also stopped in Bangalore did not look very happy from the incident. He left the place while dropping loud rev bombs. The driver revved and his exhaust let out all the backfire sounds filling the streets. The driver kept on revving on his way out while the cops present at the spot kept on looking at the car.
One can install aftermarket exhausts on motorcycles or cars in India. However, such vehicles are not allowed on public roads. Modified motorcycles or cars can be towed on a flatbed to private property like a racing track and can be used there. However, on the public roads, removing the stock exhaust and installing any aftermarket exhaust that exceeds the noise level set by the authorities can be seized and destroyed like this. Gautam expressed that he feels such actions are unfair and should not be done. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments section.
