It's still odd but better somehow.
The race to make the exterior of the BMW M2 more palatable is on, and this week Vorsteiner posted a series of images teasing its upcoming design upgrades for the aesthetically challenged coupe.
Vorsteiner will call the widebody package the GT Edition, consisting of aerodynamic and wheel options. It will be introduced to the public as part of California-based tuner's 20th-anniversary celebrations. It has been making innovative add-ons for cars since 2004, and its founder is also the man behind Gunther Werks.
It's probably most famous for making the front end of the current M3/M4 a little more palatable, so we see no reason why it can't do the same for the M2.

According to Vorsteiner, these aerodynamic enhancements will be made using the latest composite technology, suggesting the liberal use of carbon fiber. The add-ons will also be available in a gloss or satin clear finish.
The M2's main problem is the lack of a homogenous design. BMW's stylists simply never stopped designing it, resulting in haphazard lines, square elements, and some round bulbous shapes like the power dome. Even BMW's own M Performance parts can't save it, which is why we're thankful for third-party tuners.
Autoid did a brilliant job rounding off the edges, while Alpha-N Performance gave the M2 some CSL-inspired design elements, but how does this one rank?

Vorsteiner uses a bit of both the design approaches mentioned above. The square designs are still there, but the rear end of the blue car is more pronounced. It looks like the spiritual successor to the first-generation BMW M3 and its wide back end.
Vorsteiner found a way to make the unframed kidney grilles appear larger in size. The carbon fiber inserts accentuate the nostrils, while those aggressive hood slats lure your eyes away from the face. At the rear, the integrated spoiler with an LED light bar looks wild, though it may be a bit too much for some. The rear diffuser is more pronounced, and the alloy wheels are phenomenal.
This car will look phenomenal in purple, with contrasting bronze wheels. Pricing and availability are not known yet, but we expect Vorsteiner to announce the details before the end of the year.
