The race car will make its debut at Le Mans and we hope a street version will arrive soon after.
It is an open secret the 2024 Ford Mustang GT3 will make its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans next week. So what better way to build the hype train than to release a new teaser? The Blue Oval company did just that and came up with an onboard video with the Mustang GT3 running around the Sebring International Raceway.
The video, posted on Twitter by Ford CEO Jim Farley, shows the upcoming race car driven by American racing driver Joey Hand in dry track conditions. This is a follow-up clip from a 14-second clip of the race car's first public shakedown at the said track last March.

Ford Performance Ford PerformanceNo fly-by sounds this time but at least we get to hear how the naturally-aspirated V8 growls when picking up speed and downshifting. The raw V8 sound is just one of the few details Ford wants us to know for now.
What we know so far is that Multimatic Motorsports has been tasked to build the track-ready GT3-spec Mustang S650, as well as the pony car's GT4-spec version. A total of six racing versions have been announced for the nameplate's seventh-gen iteration.
Based on the Ford Mustang Dark Horse, the GT3 race car is fitted with a carbon fiber body and widebody kits. It also comes with a massive wing at the back for added stability and downforce. But instead of latching on the trunk, the wing is mounted on the rear pillars.

While the racer shares the naturally-aspirated Coyote V8 found in the Dark Horse, the GT3 will reportedly run on a bored version with a 5.4-liter displacement.
Should Ford make a road version? After seeing the clips and teaser images, yes, a Mustang GT3 for the streets would bring a smile to our faces. There's no official announcement regarding the matter just yet but Farley posted a question on Twitter last March asking fans whether the automaker should make a Mustang GT3 for the streets.
For now, the automaker's attention is on the full debut of the track-focused Mustang GT3 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 9. It will make its racing debut next year at the 24 Hours of Daytona.
