The all-new BMW M2 has officially arrived in Singapore, with prices starting at S$380,000 without COE
SINGAPORE
The latest version of BMW’s compact performance coupe, the M2, has now officially arrived in Singapore. The car is priced at S$380,000 without COE, and comes with an eight-speed automatic as standard, although there will also be a Purist Edition with a six-speed manual that will be offered soon as well.
The previous M2 was BMW’s best-selling M car, having shifted some 60,000 units throughout its eight-year production run from 2015 to 2022. The latest model looks set to build upon that success, and CarBuyer’s Derryn Wong, who drove the car in America, declared the new model “still a proper M driver’s car”.
Power for the new M2 comes from a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six engine that produces 460hp and 550Nm of torque, all sent to the rear wheels. 0-100km/h comes up in 4.1 seconds if equipped with the eight-speed auto, and top-speed is limited to 250km/h, although that can be raised to 285km/h when the car is specced with the optional M Driver’s Package.
The M Driver’s Package will be standard on the Purist Edition, along with the six-speed manual box and unique M Carbon bucket seats. Other unique highlights on the M2 include the M Drive Professional system, which includes a Drift Analyser, a lap timer, and one-touch buttons to activate bespoke M driving modes.
An Active M Differential is also standard, as well as the M Traction Control system that has 10 different customisable settings. There’s also the adaptive M suspension and M compound brakes with two adjustable settings, fully highlighting the M2’s status as a pure-bred driver’s car.
