Three variants of Mustang Mach-E will be able to be reserved shortly, including the flagship performance GT model
Ford Australia has announced that reservations will open on the afternoon of Wednesday May 10 for its first electric SUV, the Mustang Mach-E.
Interested customers will be able to pay a $1000 reservation fee to a Ford EV dealer for the new electric SUV.
The first allocation of Mustang Mach-Es for Australia are set to begin imminently according to Ford.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E order books will open next week
Pricing for the new Mustang Mach-E is yet to be confirmed by Ford Australia, however the brand says that pricing will become available on May 10.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is set to launch in Australia late in 2023. The electric SUV will compete against models such as the Tesla Model Y, the Volvo XC40 Recharge and even the upcoming Volkswagen ID4.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT will arrive by the end of 2023
Three variants will be available at launch: Select, Premium and GT.
The full list of inclusions on each grade is yet to be detailed, but Ford Australia has confirmed how much grunt and driving range you can expect.
The select variant will use a 71kWh battery pack and will use a single, rear-mounted electric motor to deliver 198kW of power and 430Nm of torque. Range is estimated to be around 470km.

Next up is the Mach-E Premium that will use a larger 91kWh battery and single electric motor to produce outputs of 216kW/430Nm. This variant is set to have up to 600km of range according to Ford.
The performance flagship Mustang Mach-E will be the GT and will use dual electric motors to produce 358kW/860Nm. The same 91kWh battery as the Premium will be used for the GT. The WLTP figure for the GT variant is estimated to be 490km.
