Order books stretch "far into 2023," says the ultra-luxury automaker.
Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce announced Monday it sold 6021 cars in 2022, the most ever over a 12-month period in the brand’s 118-year history.
Sales increased eight percent from the 5586 cars Rolls-Royce sold in 2021, with most markets achieving higher sales in 2022 than the previous year. The Americas took the crown for single region with the most cars sold, with record sales also occurring in places like the United Kingdom, Germany, and the Asia-Pacific region. China, the carmaker’s second-largest market, was the only place where sales dipped versus 2021.
Rolls-Royce notes the Middle East as the company’s leading market for bespoke commissions, an important aspect considering each personalized Rolls rakes in roughly half a million Euros (roughly $535,000). The company has gone as far as to open an invite-only “Private Office” in Dubai to tend to its most important clients—the first outside Goodwood.
Don’t expect Rolls-Royce to keep selling more and more cars as time goes on. Like most high-end automakers, Rolls depends on profit margin per car rather than volume to stay relevant. Part of the draw is exclusivity—people want something not many others have.
