Lamborghini officially teases its production Huracán Sterrato off-roader.
Lamborghini released a video on Tuesday showing off a prototype of its upcoming Huracán Sterrato off-roader. The video shows the Safari-ready supercar drifting on dirt while driving alongside a biker.
Though Lamborghini did not release any additional information alongside the video, this clip effectively confirms rumors the Italian carmaker plans to build a production version of its much-loved Sterrato concept, released back in 2019.
The car shown in this video shares much of the concept’s design, including the taller ride height, widened fenders, roof racks, and dual rectangular fog lights. One thing missing in the transformation from concept to near-production is the roof-mounted lightbar. But we can live without it.
Judging by the car’s noise, we expect it to retain the lovely 5.2-liter V-10 found in every other Huracán, along with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. One thing we have yet to figure out is whether the production Sterrato will be rear- or all-wheel-drive. It’s tough to tell from the video, but we’re hoping for power to go exclusively to the rear—everything’s more fun when you can pull off long, wide-angle drifts.
Thanks to our talks with executives back in June, we know this final Huracán variant will be revealed in December. We can’t wait.
