2022 Mercedes-Benz CLE: What is it?
We could be seeing something of a paradigm shift as it is expected that the CLE will replace both the C and E-Class coupe/convertible. The luxury model caught testing appears larger than the current C-Class, and not far from the scale of an E-Class convertible.
2022 Mercedes-Benz CLE: What is it powered by?
Just like the current C and E-Class, this convertible is expected to mimic the engine range of its saloon counterparts. Expect a choice of diesel or petrol units, with a plug-in hybrid model likely.
If you really want to feel the wind in your hair, an AMG car powered by a new four-cylinder hybrid drivetrain is also on the cards.
2022 Mercedes-Benz CLE: When will it be on sale?
The new C-Class saloon has now hit the road, so its derivatives won’t be too far behind it. We’d expect to see this drop-top and coupe model before the year is out, with sale starting shortly after.
2022 Mercedes-Benz CLE: How much will it cost
This is very much an educated guess as the CLE merges two previously different models into something new. A C-Class Cabriolet starts at just under £44,000 while the E-Class Cabriolet is £51k. Splitting the difference lands us at around the £47,000 mark.
