2022 Aston Martin DBX V12: what is it?
It's what appears and sounds to be a V12 powered Aston Martin DBX luxury SUV.
The current DBX is powered by a Mercedes-AMG derived twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, but it seems Aston Martin is looking to offer a V12 model too based on the noise of this test mule at The Ring.
The DBX is already a very luxurious and expensive SUV, but this V12 would likely sit above the V8 model in the range.
2022 Aston Martin DBX V12: what is it powered by?
As mentioned, although Aston Martin had other DBXs at The Ring that day, the noise coming from the back of the one pictured here was very much V12-like.
The Mercedes-AMG V8 powered DBX has 542bhp and can crack 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds. Aston's V12 in its DB11 and DBS produces as much as 715bhp, so we can expect a faster sprint time.
2022 Aston Martin DBX V12: when will it be on sale?
At this point, there's no info on when a V12 powered Aston Martin DBX will go on sale, but given the late stage of testing shown in these pictures, we'd be surprised if we don't see it at least revealed in 2022.
2022 Aston Martin DBX V12: how much will it cost?
There are no confirmed prices for the Aston Martin DBX V12, but given the current V8 model already costs a whopping £160,000, we can assume the V12's price will be knocking on the door of £200,000.
Given most buyers get busy with Aston's extensive options list, we can see the average transaction price being even more than this.
